Privacy Notice

1. What this notice covers

This notice applies to www.forebold.com, the Forebold marketing website. It is a static, public site: there are no accounts, no logins, and no payments here.

The Forebold application is not currently in operation. This notice therefore describes only two things the site actually does: it measures how the site is used, and it accepts an email address if you choose to join the waitlist.

2. Who is responsible

The data controller is Walden Ventures Oy (“we”, “us”), based in Espoo, Finland.

3. Analytics

We use PostHog, hosted in the European Union, to understand how the site is used. We never ask who you are on this site and we do not link analytics to a named person. The identifier described below is pseudonymous rather than truly anonymous: on its own it does not identify you, but it is stable across visits.

What is recorded:

  • Page views, and when you leave a page.
  • A small, fixed set of interactions we have explicitly tagged in the code: clicks on calls-to-action, opening an FAQ answer, switching the chart view on the how-it-works page, and submitting the waitlist form. For each we record a label we wrote ourselves, the page section, and the page path. The waitlist event records only that a submission happened and whether it succeeded — your email address is never part of an analytics event.
  • Technical information your browser sends with any web request, including your IP address, browser type, device type, and the page that referred you.
  • A randomly generated device identifier, stored in your browser’s local storage so repeat visits can be counted as one visitor rather than several.

What is not recorded: automatic capture is switched off. We do not record keystrokes, form contents, mouse movement, session replays, or clicks on anything we have not deliberately tagged. Button labels come from values written in our source code, never from text on the page, specifically so that personal information cannot be swept into an event by accident.

We do not run advertising, ad networks, or third-party tracking pixels. We do not profile you, make automated decisions about you, or sell or share your data for anyone else’s marketing.

4. Waitlist and newsletter

If you submit the waitlist form, we collect your email address and nothing else. It is stored with Resend, our email provider, so we can contact you about Forebold.

You can ask us to remove you at any time by emailing [email protected], or by using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.

5. Legal bases

Under the GDPR we rely on:

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for the waitlist: you provide your email address voluntarily, and you can withdraw at any time.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) for analytics: knowing which pages are read and which explanations land is how we improve the site. We keep the data minimal by design and never link it to a named person. You can object at any time; see section 8.

6. Who else processes this data

  • Cloudflare. Hosts and serves the site, and processes request data such as your IP address in order to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
  • PostHog. Analytics, processed on EU infrastructure.
  • Resend. Stores waitlist email addresses and delivers email.

These providers act on our instructions. Where any processing takes place outside the European Economic Area, it is covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or another approved transfer mechanism.

7. How long we keep it

Analytics data is kept according to our PostHog project’s retention settings and is not retained longer than needed to see trends over time. Waitlist email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we process it, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that already happened. Email [email protected] and we will respond within one month.

To opt out of analytics, use the button below — it tells PostHog to stop collecting in this browser and remembers the choice. You can also block requests to eu.i.posthog.com, clear this site’s local storage, or use a browser or extension that blocks analytics. None of these affect your ability to read the site.

If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you can complain to your local data protection authority. In Finland this is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (Tietosuojavaltuutetun toimisto).

9. Data from the Forebold application

This notice covers the website. The Forebold application is not currently running, but we still hold the data it collected while it was — account details and the content customers created in it. Nothing is being processed while the application is offline; it is retained so the service can be restored.

If you had an account and want a copy of that data or want it deleted, email [email protected]. Because the application is offline we may need longer than usual to act on the request, but we will acknowledge it within one month.

10. Changes

If what we do with data changes, we will update this notice and the version date above.
